BoxingInsider: I heard you say earlier today that Marcos Maidana is the fight you want most of all. Why him?
Brandon Rios: ?Because the fight with him would be a Fight of the Decade. It would be one of those fights a lot of people would remember, like Gatti-Ward, Corrales-Castillo, fights like that. Fights that people will remember. There are a lot of fights that I want. And I know Maidana could probably give it to me.?
BoxingInsider: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, who wins?
Brandon Rios: ?I go for Mayweather. I think Mayweather will just box him. Last time, with Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather outboxed him. Mayweather dominated Marquez. So I say Mayweather will outbox him. Too slick, too defensive and Pacquiao is there open for a right hand all day long.?
BoxingInsider: How do you see Margarito vs. Cotto playing out on Saturday night?
Brandon Rios: ?I see it the same way. Margarito is gonna put so much pressure on him. And I see Cotto taking a knee like he did last time. I think the corner might stop it again. I see the same thing.?
BoxingInsider: But the sold out crowd support will be overwhelmingly against Antonio. There?s never been anything like this in boxing before, even Foreman and Ali in Africa was not as intense as this powder keg. Do you think Antonio is strong enough mentally to overcome 20,000 people being vehemently against him?
Brandon Rios: ?If I know Tony very well, which I think I do, I know he won?t let the crowd get to him. I think he?ll just go in there and do what he do and take control of the fight.?
BoxingInsider: Have you ever seen a situation before where the crowd was so much against a guy and FOR the other?
Brandon Rios: ?Hell yeah, I seen it when I fought on the Pacquiao-Margarito. It wasn?t towards them it was towards me at the weigh in. It was horrible because of the video, the incident, that happened. And the crowd hated me. They hated me. But, you know, it?s all good. You don?t worry about stuff like that. You look past that and you worry about your job and getting your job done. And that?s about it.?
BoxingInsider: What happened at the weigh in?
Brandon Rios: ?Everybody was booing me, they booed the hell out of me.?
BoxingInsider: Why though?
Brandon Rios: ?Just because, I had an incident that was supposed to be in the gym and it got caught out.?
BoxingInsider: Oh that, yeah.
Brandon Rios: ?It got posted out. Like I said, I said my apologies, it was a bad decision on my behalf and it?s something I had to learn from. It?s something I?m not pleased about.?
BoxingInsider: Everybody has things they wish they didn?t do, making mistakes in youth, skeletons?
Brandon Rios: ?It was a skeleton in my closet. It?s done, it?s over and I look forward to the best.?
BoxingInsider: Did it effect how you performed? Feeling that crowd support so against you?
Brandon Rios: ?I was like, whatever. They boo me. They have their people they follow and people they don?t. They hated me that day. It felt good. Now they love me now. So it felt good.?
