Khan said during an international media conference call on Monday that he will be the fan favorite against #1 rated IBF contender Lamont Peterson on December 10 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, DC.
Amir Khan: I really think going into this fight, even though the fight is in Lamont Peterson?s backyard, I really think we will have more support than him. There?s a lot of fans coming from New York and close states near Washington DC and I really think we?ve have a bigger fanbase.
We?ve had some tough, tough sparring partners who have been very and not taking a step back, they?re probably tougher than fighting Lamont.
He brings a lot to the table, but we know exactly how to deal with that. We?ve got a game plan that we?re going to work on and hopefully we?ll take Lamont Peterson out of his game plan and beat him. That?s our job, to beat him and move on to bigger and better things.
