WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr?s trainer and uncle Roger Mayweather is focusing on just one opponent for his nephew at the MGM Grand in May and that?s WBO title holder Manny Pacquiao.
The outspoken trainer was interviewed recently for On the Ropes Boxing Radio and insisted that if Pacquiao agrees to take the drug tests stipulated; both men stand to make a record-breaking amount of money for a fight.
?I want Floyd to fight Manny Pacquiao!? stated Mayweather.
?Pacquiao has been the one who beat the same guys that my nephew beat. So let?s see!
?That?s what the world has been waiting for! Any other fight don?t make sense. The only fight that makes sense is Floyd and Pacquiao. That?s it. And if Pacquiao won?t take that fight then he?s got to be a fool, anyway!?
Mayweather also went on to dismiss both Amir Khan and Sergio Martinez as potential opponents for the 34 year-old five-weight world champion, who has also asked his team to try and make the fight with the ?Pacman? a reality for May 5th.
Pacquiao, 32, is expected to undergo Olympic-style drug testing to get the fight made and Mayweather also acknowledged that this was the only potential stumbling block to the fight becoming a reality this year.
