Uncrowned world featherweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao flew to General Santos City yesterday morning after his wife Jinky broke the news of her uncle?s tragic death the night before.
Pacquiao arrived from Davao City, where he started light workouts with trainer Nonoy Neri, Sunday night and was at the Wild Card Gym in Sucat, Para?aque, when Jinky phoned from General Santos City. Her uncle was killed when the tricycle he was riding was rammed by a dump truck.
Pacquiao?s business manager Rod Nazario said he sent word for the fighter to be back in Manila for a meeting with Mayor Lito Atienza tomorrow morning and to receive the Ring Magazine championship belt from editor Nigel Collins in President Arroyo?s presence at Malaca?ang in the afternoon.
