MEXICAN world boxing champion Juan Marquez has more to lose than just money if he ducks Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao, Ring magazine editor-in-chief Nigel Collins said on Monday.
?Manny is the best fighter right now in his division. Marquez can?t ignore him,? said the editor of the publication considered ?The Bible of Boxing? who is in town to award the Filipino sports hero the magazine?s prestigious featherweight belt.
Being the reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight titlist, Marquez has been playing hard to get with Pacquiao?s handlers, mainly because the purse offered him is smaller than that of the Filipino champion.
