Manny Pacquiao must go where the wild goose goes, namely Floyd Mayweather Jr.

It must get tiresome for Manny Pacquiao to get so much advice from pundits like yours truly, Billy Dooley. It might said that Pacman has done well without the well meaning if misplaced points constantly thrown his way pundits, both real and the self-annointed, self-appointed kind. But, and this may be the last career tip I toss the Pinoy Idol as I retire to a remote cave in Outer Mongolia to analyze how I came to pick him to KO Fancy Stepper Juan Manuel Marquez in five rounds, I do have one more tantalizing tidbit to offer. It says here that, despite Bob Arum’s evident plans and machinations, that Pacquiao should fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May and save his fourth opus against Mexican Marquez for September and Mexican Independence Day Weekend. I just don’t see flipping the script. If Pacquiao loses or doesn’t demolish Marquez in May, then Mayweather-Pacquiao is appreciably devauled as a monster attraction. And I think that, on both a mental and physical basis, Pacquiao needs a new Matterhown to attempt to climb. Familarity has breeded a lifetime of contempt between Manny and Juan Ma and I think the Filipino and the Mexicano could use a change of scenery in the opposite corner. For his part, Juan Ma should sit one dance out and just wait in the on deck circle for the Mayweather-Pacquiao winner. If Marquez-Pacquiao IV is a disappointment, again it hurts Money-Manny. Better for Pacquiao to grab the far better paying Mayweather matchup and leave his Rounds 37-48 against Marquez for the fall. The iron is hot for Mayweather-Pacquiao and it is liable to never get hotter. Even if he loses to Money, the moolah for a fourth go-round with counterpuncher Marquez will be the same kind of jumbo jackpot. Can you imagine how big Marquez-Pacman IV will be if Manny beats the Man who beat Marquez already meaning L’il Floyd? Marquez and Pacquiao need a break from other. In Don King’s inimitible phrase, Pacquiao “must go where the wild goose goes.” Take a gander and the only wild goose in Pacquiao’s path is Mayweather. Juan Ma can wait for his next chance and Mayweather may not. ([email protected])
