Tijuana based Mexican fight promoter Fernando Beltran must like knocking his head against a wall named Manny Pacquiao. You know, like the headbanger who, when asked by a psychiatrist why he repeatedly slammed his noggin into a cement wall, said, “Because it feels good when I stop, Doc.” Beltran, who is handling the reins for Mexican counterpuncher Juan Manuel Marquez in the “Chapter 3” bout against Pacman Saturday night at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, is hoping to get his second victory over the Pinoy Idol in this, his eighth try. Beltran had Marquez against Manny in their first two bouts, way back in 2004, and then had Erik Morales who won one of three bouts against Pacquiao. He also had Hector Velasquez and Jorge Solis, both losers to Pacquiao. What will it be for Betran in this one? Wil he drop to 1-6-1 or improve to 2-5-1? Win, lose or draw, Beltran emulates Bob Arum and Top Rank in it that he profits regardless of the fight result.
