Aztec warrior, Juan Manuel Marquez will be arriving in Las Vegas later today for the biggest fight of his professional career against a long time rival, Manny Pacquiao. The conclusion to their historic trilogy is scheduled to take place this Saturday, November 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. HBO PPV will broadcast the event live. A twelve rounds or less contest for Pacquiao?s WBO welterweight title will be fought at a contracted catch weight 144 pounds.
?We weighed him today. He is 144 pounds right now. He is ready to go,? said Juan Manuel?s new strength and conditioning coach, Angel Hernandez when I caught up to him on Saturday at the Santa Anita Race track.
Its Hernandez?s checkered past that?s been creating a lot of controversy around the fight for the past week or so.?I got him because I hear he was a really good personal trainer,? said Marquez on Saturday during media day at Santa Anita Race track:? Despite the controversy I am still working with him. Whatever people might want to say about it I am prepared. I am doing the best that I can. I am really into the preparation that I got in so far and whatever test they want me to take, I will do them. I don?t care.? Advertisement
A fighter they call Dynamita has been creating quite a stir leading up to this event by saying that he was robbed because he won the first two fights. His opponent, current pound for pound king of boxing, Manny Pacquiao is on the edge and wants to prove otherwise. However this past Saturday, current undisputed lightweight champion expressed a different view towards upcoming fight.?I don?t know what will happen next Saturday,? said Marquez:? But I am ready. I feel strong and I feel good. I don?t like to say nothing outside the ring. I like to say it in the ring. Watch this fight, because our third fight will be another great fight.?
Following in footsteps of his nemesis, Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez has hired strength and conditioning coach to help him for this fight. Was that the only difference in preparation for this one?
?Times are changing,? Marquez said:? And you have to change with times. Yes. I trained very different for this camp. I trained three times per day and three times per week and I feel very good. I doesn?t matter to me what anybody says, because I like training very hard. I have a responsibility for my training. I love this sport. I expect a really, really hard fight. That?s why I trained so hard. I expect more of the same from last to fights.?
