If Manny Pacquiao goes in another direction, middleweight champion Sergio Martinez is a likely candidate to face Floyd Mayweather and his promoter Lou DiBella says a deal wouldn’t be hard to make on their end.

There had been reports of preliminary talks between the two sides taking place a few weeks ago. DiBella says it was a ?conversation where it’s stated that it’s not out of the question. I wouldn’t characterize it as a preliminary discussion. I would say it’s sort of a flirtation- not really a negotiation but look, here’s the other thing. I’m not an idiot. It’s up to Floyd. It’s up to Manny. It’s up to Floyd’s team and it’s up to Arum. Me beating up people and calling people and bothering them on the phone ain?t going to get it done. What’s going to get it done is a decision on their part that they’re willing to do it.?
DiBella says that he has not been contacted recently by Mayweather?s representatives.
?If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen down the line,? he explained. ?I talk to Mayweather’s people every day, in a sense that Al Haymon and I do business together but if they’re serious about it, they could have a conversation with me. You know how I feel about it. I made my position clear: my guy will walk in at 150 pounds at the weigh-in and walk in at the same weight or less than Victor Ortiz just did. But if they want to do it, they’re going to do it. If they don’t want to do it, they’re not going to do it.
