Manny Pacquiao is hot in the world of Boxing, but his popularity doesn’t end there. His appeal is global and don’t just take my word for it, I can back it up with the best readily available information / research tools anyone with access to the internet can search out and use themselves. Enter Yahoo. One look at yesterday’s Yahoo.com’s top 10 trending list (see photo on this page), Pacquiao was not only riding the list all day long, he peaked at number one. Pardon me and my nasty, but you better F’ing believe that is an impressive feat!
Yesterday on Yahoo, Pacquiao out performed hot topics such as the remake of Fox’s classic TV show, “21 Jump Street”. Not even “Depression”, “Android Tablets” or the “G-20 summit” could derail Pacquiao. Beautiful, sexy and popular women such as Jessica Biel, Kristen Stewart, Kate Gosselin and Demi Lovato all proved to be femme fatalities against Pacquiao. Stanley Tucci, an American actor, writer, film producer and film director made the list, but no match for Pacman.
Ranking as high as #1 on Yahoo’s list is completely impressive. Making the top spot on Yahoo’s trending list is by no means an easy accomplishment. To make it so high on Yahoo’s trending list means a tremendous amount of people used Yahoo’s popular search engine to learn more on Manny Pacquiao. Yahoo gets its data for its list from traffic using their extremely popular search engine to gauge what are the top trends. By using their own collected data, there is no way to cheat Yahoo’s system. Yahoo also uses Facebook and Twitter in the formula. Whether it’s spiking in search, most shared on Facebook or a trending topic on Twitter, Yahoo’s top trending list stays on top of the latest, most interesting and buzzed about information.
Anytime you see Boxing or a Boxer make the list, you take notice. It’s one piece of real-estate that is not only highly sought after, it’s damn near impossible to make it on the list… I mean after all, the world is big and complicated, news and topics of discussion on a mass scale change as quickly as the click of your mouse. Manny Pacquiao certainly deserves his Big YAHOO of recognition!
