Last weekend, WBC and WBO bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire found himself in an awkward situation as his enthusiasm for an emphatic performance was dampened by the unwillingness of defense-minded Argentinean Omar Narvaez. Fighting at the WaMu Theater inside of the famed Madison Square Garden, Donaire successfully defended his titles by way of unanimous decision against Narvaez, but there was little in terms of action or suspense along the way.
Making the trek from his bases in Las Vegas, Nevada to cover Donaire?s latest conquest, Japan-born photographer Naoki Fukuda was again ringside to take in the action. Despite the tepid nature of the fight, Fukuda had already braced himself for what lied ahead after taking in the opening rounds.
