?WHOA! Slow him down Freddie, or else Juan Manuel Marquez won?t show up to fight Manny Pacquiao,? jested promoter Bob Arum moments after the pound-for-pound champ?s brisk session with the American trainer at the Wildcard gym in Hollywood.
Pacquiao has been training like mad for the defense of his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against Marquez on Nov. 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
His sessions have been wreaking difficulty on his sparmates that replacements are hard to come by, and no one has been volunteering to do a number of rounds with the hard-punching lefty.
Arum is saying the Mexican challenger will put up the fight of his life against the Pinoy idol. But that won?t cut it as Manny is at the peak of his distinguished career ?definitely in better shape than he was in his last two fights against Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley, the 79-year-old boxing guru added.
One of the boxing congressman?s key people, who?s been helping Manny sharpen his skill, related that the defending champ is almost ready for battle, adding that Sarangani?s pride has been executing well new techniques laid out by Roach.
No problemo? So far, with regards to what the Pacman is showing in training camp, for sure.
But the filing of a lawsuit by an accounting firm out to recover from Manny some $629,000 in unpaid bills is causing concerns.
As noted, Pacquiao?s redoubtable enemies are the gluttons around him, whose voracity is second to none when stealing moolah from his ring earnings.
Asked by a reporter during a lull in action at the gym if the case is bothering him?
?Not a bit,? was his curt reply, stressing that the case is now with his lawyers.
Manny Pacquiao does have a lawyer he fondly calls ?attorney left and right.?
I have doubts though that this legal beagle is coming in as lead counsel.
Ask the identity of the lawyer in question when you get to see the P4P boxingman.
