ALA keeps Pinoy Pride ablaze

BECAUSE of the huge demand from boxing fans in the Philippines, ALA Promotions has decided to announce the latest installment of the hit boxing series, ?Pinoy Pride,? earlier than usual even if two of the main protagonists are without opponents as of now.

?We had to announce it earlier because we have been receiving inquiries from our fan email. In the next few weeks, we are going to announce the opponents,? ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said yesterday in the launch of ?Pinoy Pride 10? at the Cebu Grand Hotel.

The three main boxers that will be showcased in ALA Promotions? latest blockbuster boxing event on Dec. 10 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City are promising young fighters Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista, Genesis Servania and Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight champion Rocky Fuentes.

No names yet

The opponents of Bautista and Fuentes are yet to be named, while Servania is taking on another tough opponent in former world title contender Rafael Hernandez, 13-3-2 with 11 KOs.

?We want to test ?Boom-Boom and see where he?s at right now. He will be definitely fighting a formidable opponent,? said Aldeguer.

If it were up to Bautista, who is slated to defend his International Boxing Federation International featherweight crown, he would want a rematch with the fighter who handed him his first defeat, Daniel Ponce de Leon.

?I want to fight Daniel Ponce de Leon,? said the 25-year-old, one-time world title
