8CountNews caught up with boxing trainer Jeff Mayweather and got an update on Celestino Caballero’s recent WBA featherweight title victory in South America. Jeff also talks in depth on the entire Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs. Manny Pacquiao situation, including the blood testing issues, and the Bob Arum theory. Mayweather admits that it’s a possibility that the reason we have not seen a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight is because Arum maximizes his earnings by feeding Pacquiao only Top Rank fighters. For the record, Jeff doesn’t know for sure why this fight has not happened, it’s just speculation and theories worthy of discussion.
Jeff also talks in depth on the incident that happened on HBO 24/7 with his brother and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Big Floyd got into it with Floyd Jr on national TV during an episode of HBO 24/7. Jeff tells 8CN that the fight was not a staged HBO skit in order to get ratings. Jeff says that this argument was very real, and that Roger Mayweather after the fact was able to settle the situation down.
Roger Mayweather was put into a tough situation during that argument, and probably was smart to not say anything during the argument. It was probably a good move to let both big Floyd and little Floyd cool off before trying to settle things down.
