IN a pronouncement that could be deciphered either as a mere bravado or a sheer display of audacity, WBC super bantamweight champion Oscar “Chololo” Larios of Mexico said yesterday he is capable of beating the consensus world featherweight Manny Pacquiao once he will be given an opportunity to square off against the Filipino ring superstar.
Larios, who is being considered as Pacquiao’s next foe, said his plan really is to venture in the featherweight ranks and challenge all the best in the pound-for-pound list including Pacquiao once he disposes of Japanese Shigeru Nakazato in his March 6 title defense at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
“I would like to face off with him (Pacquiao). I have a good chance to beat him. I am well prepared for a fight with him. Plus, as super bantamweight there aren’t any interesting fights ,” said Larios in an interview with Ricardo Lois of boxingtalk.com.
