Earlier today at the Mayfield Hotel in London, England, WBA and IBF junior welterweight champion Amir Khan met face to face with veteran challenger Lamont Peterson to officially announce their December 10th fight. Khan, a Bolton native, will once again be coming to American soil as he faces Peterson in his hometown of Washington, DC.
Khan is coming off of a 5th round TKO over Zab Judah on July 23rd inside of the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Less than a week after Khan?s victory, Peterson would face off with Dominican Victor Cayo at the nearby Cosmopolitan Resort, scoring a 12th round stoppage to secure the right to face Khan.
The 24-year old champion has made it clear that win or lose again Peterson, he will likely be moving up to 147 pounds in his next fight and will surely be looking to dance with undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime in 2012.
