Most of those asked agree that Manny Pacquiao will more than likely defeat Juan Manuel Marquez, but not everyone. It’s true that Marquez is the one fighter that has given Pacquiao the most trouble. The two have already fought twice and both fights were good ones. Most professional fighters will tell you that there is always one fighter out there that has your number. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that Marquez has Pacquiao’s number, but he’s been the one fighter that has come the closest to having it.
The two fighter are going in different directions. Marquez is a tough warrior that has been in his share of wars. By most accounts, Marquez’ best days are behind him. Pacquiao has dramatically increased his game since the last Marquez fight and most people say that he is still primed and ready for all comers.
I would be very surprised if Marquez defeats Manny Pacquiao. There will be Marquez moments in the fight, but there will not be enough of them to overcome the onslaught that Pacquiao will rain upon him. Too much speed and pressure will eventually wear down Marquez.
