Earlier tonight at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, former champion Juan Manuel Lopez stepped back into the ring for the first time since his devastating upset loss to Orlando Salido earlier this year. Brought in as the sacrificial lamb tonight was Connecticut?s Mike Oliver, who, despite the promise that once came with his career, was handled easily by Lopez as he stopped him within two rounds.

Lopez came out of the gates throwing serious leather and the light-punching Oliver simply couldn?t cope, falling to the deck twice in the first round before seeing referee Robert Ramirez waived the beating off at 2:32 of the second stanza. With the win Lopez is back in the winner?s circle and will be looking for a rematch with Salido in early 2012.
