As he finalizes his plans to train in the US, Manny Pacquiao found just enough time yesterday to shoot and film his latest MTV at the ABS-CBN headquarters in Quezon City.
Pacquiao is scheduled to fly to the US this Saturday to start training for his July 2, 12-round fight with Mexico’s Oscar Larios at the Araneta Coliseum.
Pacquiao spent the whole afternoon yesterday in one of the studios of the giant TV network, doing the MTV that will be used to help promote his coming fight.
Pacquiao is scheduled to train at the star-studded Wild Card Gym in Hollywood. His chief American trainer Freddie Roach owns the place.
Rex “Wakee” Salud, a noted boxing promoter from the South and one of Pacquiao’s closes friends, was scheduled to meet the boxer somewhere in Manila last night.
Salud said the final details of Pacquiao’s trip to the US were to be finalize during the meeting.
According to plans, Pacquiao will train in Los Angeles for the whole of May. Then he returns to the Philippines and train in a camp specially set up in Baguio City.
Larios, who was here last month to help promote the fight, has plans to train in Japan, and should be in Manila probably a week before their showdown.
