I first mentioned my suspicion here at BoxingInsider.com that Floyd Mayweather-Oscar De La Hoya II was the ultimate plan for the biggest coward fraud in boxing history this past summer. And now that Floyd and Oscar are currently involved in a Tweet battle, it?s beginning to look like this ?garbage? fight is actually in the works for 2012. (I use the term ?garbage? to describe this ?fight? because it?s what Glen Johnson called Floyd-Oscar I when I asked his opinion for the rematch several years ago.)
There are many reasons why Floyd needs Oscar as a dance partner.
First: Floyd?s scared to death of Manny Pacquiao and knows he will get knocked out, so career suicide is not an option for Mayweather.
Second: Floyd?s protectors Richard Schaefer and Al Haymon know they can?t sacrifice their counterfeit star to Bob Arum and Manny Pacquaio now or never, and they need a high profile ?name? as their next set up for Floyd. Malignaggi, Matt Hatton, Spadafora, are unacceptable options. Amir Khan, Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito are far too dangerous for lil Floyd.
Third: Since we don?t know the true PPV numbers that Floyd-Ortiz sold (don?t believe anything fraudhype.com tells you about Phloyd), there is reason to suspect that HBO and Golden Boy are concealing the true numbers and will not officially sanction the supposed 1.3 total for IRS purposes. This means Golden Boy, Schaefer and Haymon are in a desperate position ? and they need to piggyback off of Oscar?s once-and-perhaps-still-golden name for their counterfeit star Mayweather.
Fourth: An Oscar comeback to the ring might explode into a huge boxing event which attracts the mainstream sports audience and this would be perfect for the counterfeit star Mayweather to leech more fame and money off of. Of course, Oscar at age 38 is going to be easy work for Floyd as he is no doubt a shell of the shell of himself that we saw getting beaten up by Manny Pacquiao over two years ago. But there are ways to make a grotesque mismatch look more competitive than it should be. WWE don?t have to elaborate on that point.
If this horror story becomes true and 2012 shows us that Floyd vs. Oscar II becomes a shameful reality, point your fingers at Floyd Mayweather, Al Haymon, Richard Schaefer and all the people at HBO for producing this garbage ? when the biggest event in boxing history ? Pacquiao vs. Mayweather ? is there to be made.
