You may not like Floyd Mayweather Jr, but one thing that I appreciate about the guy is that at least with Floyd, he isn’t fake. We may not like some of his decisions, and we may not like some of his behaviors, but at least he’s not hiding the real Floyd. What you see is what you get and this is something that should not be taken for granted.
Too many times not only in boxing, but in the world in general people hide who they really are. They put on some front and just when you think that you know them, some crazy truth about them emerges. I recently spoke with Jeff Mayweather and he brought up a good point, “With Floyd what you see is what you get. Unlike guys who act one way, then we see them dressed up in drag, or like other people who act one way then we find out they are hooked on cocaine.”
Floyd Mayweather does things his way. We may not like some of the things that he says or does, but by golly he does it his way. He promotes his own fights (for the most part) and because of that, he doesn’t have to fork over millions of dollars of his purse money to someone else. In his recent scrap he ended up making more news when he dropped Victor Ortiz with a beautiful one two punch combination. This knockout drew a line in the sand, and people took their sides. I myself sided with Floyd on this issue. If anyone deserved to get knocked on their butt that night it was Victor Ortiz. When you ram your head through the face of your opponent on purpose, you deserve to get knocked on your butt. Protect yourself at all time Victor. Floyd got his “get back” his way. Even legends such as Evander Holyfield and 5 time world champ Cory Spinks have sided with Mayweather on this one. Holyfield said, “Ortiz brought that on himself.” Spinks said, ” I would have punched him (Ortiz) in the face too.”

Is Floyd Mayweather afraid to step into the ring Vs. Manny Pacquiao? 99.9 percent of the Philippines thinks so. Many boxing fans thinks so, but not everyone thinks this way. I myself at one point thought that perhaps Floyd was dodging this fight. I no longer feel this way. I don’t think Manny Pacquiao is dodging this fight either. I’ll let you the readers figure out who is left. Floyd loves money too much to purposely dodge Manny Pacquiao. There’s a reason Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather has not been made yet and it has nothing to do with Manny or Floyd being scared of each other.

Mayweather love him or hate him does things his way. He’s been fighting a long time, and he’s right when he says that Ortiz was in elementary school when he was a world champion already. Floyd is not perfect by any stretch but he should be listened to at times. He has a lot to say, and some of it makes a lot of sense. For those who dislike Floyd, take the blinders off and listen to what he has to say. You will disagree with a lot of it but some of what he says has merit and should not be discarded just because you dislike him.
