Newly-crowned WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been sounding off on his September 17th opponent Victor Ortiz and the fighter?s promoter Oscar De La Hoya in recent hours. Mayweather is coming off of a 4th round knockout over Ortiz inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas but has taken some displeasure at the former champion?s actions following the fight.
On Monday, De La Hoya and Ortiz held an international conference call stating their case for a rematch against Mayweather, as they felt his victory last weekend was unfair. After being docked a point for an intentional head butt, Ortiz went to embrace Mayweather and offer his apologies but was greeted with what he calls two cheap shots as Mayweather tagged him with a left-right combination that put him on the deck and ended the fight.
