This, of course, is just another lie by Mayweather to help him duck and dodge Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan. There is pressure now on Mayweather to step up and give the public a REAL fight instead of a handpicked WWE exhibition like you saw last weekend in Las Vegas where a man put his hands down and gave away a free KO while the referee looked away.
The problem for the declining Mayweather is that Pacquiao and Khan, the two most attractive opponents for Mayweather to face next in 2012, are far more lethal and complex than the ?headcase? Ortiz. Khan and Pacquiao are speedy, powerful, and have proven themselves to be steady, consistent mentally and physically strong performers, unlike Ortiz.
Mayweather is just pretending to talk about boxing the Klitschkos, as it?s a smokescreen to deflect attention and demand away from Mayweather having to deal with the fan and media pressure to fight Khan or Pacquiao. It?s a common ploy by Mayweather who frequently drops names of tough opponents and pretends like he will fight them, so as to deceive the public into thinking he is not afraid to fight the best and that he is a warrior concerned about legacy. But it?s all just fraud and deception. Some examples of Mayweather using this tactic to trick the public are when he said he would fight Margarito in 2006 just as long as Arum shows him the money. And this summer, Mayweather lied and said at the New York Ortiz press conference that Pacquiao would be next. Floyd also lied last year about saying he was considering to fight the winner of the Sergio Martinez-Paul Williams rematch. Floyd knows he will be brutally knocked out by Martinez.
So now Floyd is at it again, pretending to be considering to fight the Klitschkos, while lying to the public that Pacquiao and Khan would be too easy for him.
It?s extremely unlikely Mayweather will ever have to face anyone as dangerous as Khan or Pacquiao because Mayweather is being protected by his manager Al Haymon and Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy, along with HBO. Haymon & Schaefer know that Mayweather is their last big American star to control, and when he loses by knockout, it?s all over for them and they will have no stars to manufacture and promote via the Golden Boy promotional house.
So Haymon and Schaefer must preserve Mayweather and protect him from risky fights, by any means necessary. Haymon and Schaefer want to control a major American star in boxing and Floyd is their chosen man (because Berto, Arreola, Jacobs, Williams, Broner did not pan out or are not ready yet). I believe Haymon and Schaefer are going to try and manufacture Floyd via smoke and mirrors and tricks into the greatest fighter of all time, by any means necessary. But the truth is, until Floyd shuts up and steps up to fight Pacquiao, he is just a well-choreographed hoax ? and one that will be conclusively destroyed if he ever has to fight Pacquiao or Khan.
