The email box has been blowing up with fans asking me why I stand with Floyd Mayweather on this Ortiz knockout issue. I looked at the fight about 15 times now and I come to the same conclusion.
This is a boxing match. It’s a fight, or as Floyd says, “It’s the hurt game” not a dinner date. When Victor Ortiz decided that he wanted to ram his head through Floyd’s face the game changed. People can say what they want about Floyd, but the guy trains hard and he’s not a dirty fighter.
So Ortiz tries to take Floyd’s head off, and then he wants to hug and kiss and make it all better. Well it doesn’t quite work like that either. Hector Camacho Jr summed it up nicely, “It’s like a man who cheats on another man’s wife. You don’t just say that you are sorry, and everything is ok.”
