It has been over three years since Miguel Cotto?s first professional defeat, a brutal 11th round TKO loss at the hands of Antonio Margarito in Las Vegas, and his chance at redemption is inching ever so closer. On December 3rd Cotto will meet Margarito for a second time, this occasion at New York?s Madison Square Garden, and earlier today the two men came face to face in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the kickoff press conference for the event.
Cotto, the WBA junior middleweight champion of the world, is typically the reserved type, but he has shown some serious disdain towards Margarito over the past few years, perhaps believing that the Tijuana fighter had been using illegal hand wraps in their first fight. Margarito was suspended after his subsequent fight, a January 2009 thrashing at the hands of Shane Mosley, after he was discovered to have tampered hand wraps in the dressing room and speculation has run rampant ever since that he possibly was performing illegally for previous contests.
