Outspoken trainer Roger Mayweather was a star in his own right last night following the post-fight press conference for his nephew Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz’s welterweight title scuffle. Floyd defeated Ortiz via a bizarre knockout inside of the MGM Grand Garden Arena and after the presser, Roger was mobbed endlessly by fans as he walked through the casino.
During the chaos, Roger still had time to offer up a few quotes on the fight and was quick to point out that he saw Ortiz?s collapse coming well ahead of time.
?I knew it was going to happen. I knew that from the get-go. I wasn?t worried about that. I told him ?Keep walking to him, keep walking to him?. That mother****** didn?t want to fight,? Roger said of Ortiz, who was unexpectedly caught by a left-right combination from Mayweather that ended the fight in the fourth round.
