HOT POTATO VIA STAR POWER – Feisty. Gutsy. Combative. Ornery. And the next time, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0-0) gets hit, he goes down head first, if not his shoulder. That’s what I clearly foresee at the beginning of the end of his life in boxing because everything would become pitch-black, that if Vicious Victor Ortiz lands his best neuro-vascular shots. Until that moment, the son of Grand Rapids, Michigan would not know how it feels to get paralyzed from head to chest down. Yes, that if I would discount his superior intelligence in the ring of madness.
But, that’s not the “Floyd Joy Mayweather, Jr.” I foresee come this fight night with Ortiz (29-2-2), the current World Boxing Council Welterweight titlist. With the little I have known, I am certain he would not risk into such disaster. I doubt if there’s any sucker punch by Ortiz that could change the complexity of the fight. Mayweather, Jr. would do everything to avoid such a chance. He has more than enough skills to impose an almost inaccessible defense. Sure, one will never know. He, nonetheless, knows the dehumanizing aspects of boxing: brutal and animal-like killer sport. He would not engage on a toe-to-toe fight, not anymore since that Sugar Shane Mosley’s right hand which almost dropped him to the cold canvas at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas in 2010. He knows his rallying point to mount for an effective flush-counters in an ambush. And it’s all about the battle of a matured, skillful yet power-punching fighter versus a reckless, hot tempered, though with much power, but one-dimentional fighter; that is Mayweather, Jr. versus Ortiz.
