Many of the boxing fans that I have spoken to over the past month or so believe that Mayweather will defeat Oritz rather easily. Too much skill, too fast, too much defense, just too good. Ortiz on the other hand does possess a lot of heart and he can hit like a mule. Most people that fight Ortiz at one point or another end up on their seat, so Ortiz does have a punchers chance. The likely hood of him beating Mayweather is not probable.
Ortiz does have a heartfelt story. Raising his brother and then going on to become a successful world champion prizefighter deserves much respect. His victory over Andre Berto was no joke, he looked like a fighter that was not going to be denied no matter what happened. He will need that same heart when he steps into the ring Vs. Mayweather.
Floyd Mayweather Jr recently asked the American fans to rally behind him. It’s probably not going to happen. Sure he has fans, but with the recent coverage of Ortiz’ life on HBO 24/7 the fans are even more likely to gravitate toward Ortiz and further away Mayweather. American fans are more prone to follow the kid who is doing good things with his life and who holds high standards and morals.

Mayweather like him or not is a beast in the boxing ring. Nobody has the blueprint to beat him as of yet. He’s right when he says that. He trains as hard as anyone in boxing and that includes Manny Pacquiao. He will show up for this fight ready and able to dismantle Victor Ortiz.
Floyd knows what a loss would do to him. It would not only erase that zero, but it throws a wrench into the mega payday fight Vs. Pacquiao IF that fight ever does take place. Nobody really knows if it will and the fans are growing tired of waiting for it anyway. But if it is ever going to happen, Floyd needs to beat Ortiz.
Mayweather should be able to take down Ortiz and remain undefeated. Ortiz has a punchers chance, and stranger things have happened in boxing so you never know, but if I had to bet the farm on it, I am all Mayweather in this one. Let the punches fly.
