MANILA, Philippines ? Rep. Manny Pacquiao apparently not only remains in demand in the boxing arena, but on the concert stage, too.
Westlife?s Shane Filan enthused in a recent interview with ABS-CBN News that the group would be thrilled to get a chance to perform with the pound-for-pound king in their Manila concert later this month.
?If he’d like to join us on stage, we’d be truly honored. He’s a big star,? Filan was quoted as saying.
The multi-platinum selling boy band looks forward to staging their concert? their fourth in the Philippines?which takes place on Sept. 29 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
?We?re very excited. We haven?t been in the Philippines for a long time and we haven?t seen our fans for a very long time,? said Filan, who, along with Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, make up the Irish quartet responsible for the hits ?Swear It Again,? ?Fool Again,? and ?My Love,? among others.
Other artists have shown interest to either collaborate or duet with Pacquiao, such as Grammy winner Maroon 5 and Hollywood socialite and entrepreneur Paris Hilton. Filipino-Irish singer-actor Darren Criss had also said once that he?d love for the Sarangani representative to appear on “Glee.”
Pacquiao?s singing career apparently remains afloat with his post-fight concerts, live song numbers on talk show ?Jimmy Kimmel Live,? as well as his internationally released single, ?Sometimes When We Touch.”
