Earlier today in Mexico City, Mexico, an estimated 30,000 partisans came out to support their local hero Juan Manuel Marquez and eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Marquez, a three-division champion himself, will challenge Pacquiao for his WBO welterweight belt on November 12th inside of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in a fight contested at a catch weight of 144 pounds.
The Mexico City stop comes after visits to the Philippines, New York, and Los Angeles for both men. Marquez was visibly exhausted and tired from all of his traveling yesterday in Beverly Hills but appeared to have his spirits lifted today from all of his fans.
The tour to promote the fight has now concluded and each man will break for camp, Pacquiao back to Manila while Marquez is now home. HBO recently announced that the kickoff 24/7 Pacquiao-Marquez episode will premiere on Saturday, October 22nd.
