HOT POTATO Exclusive via HOLLYWOOD, California – Top Rank Godfather Robert “Bob” Arum thinks Manny Pacquiao cannot counter, in the sense that his formidable opponent in the might of Juan Manuel Marquez possesses a bombshell to spare on a 20′ x 20′ stormy canvas come on fight night of November 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
“Manny Pacquiao can’t counter,” exhorts Arum. “He can’t fight that way.”
“He (Manny Pacquiao) only can fight by being aggressive, by punching, disappearing so you can hit him. Pacquiao will have to fight like the way Freddie Roach (his trainer) has taught him to fight just like in the last few years. I mean, if he changes his style, it’s going to be a disaster.”
Asked if he expects a knockout in the Pacquiao-Marquez fight, Arum out of exuberance says “I am telling you, they each have a good chance to score a knockout. But, I think there’ll be knockdowns.”
“I don’t think there’ll a knockout until later rounds,” Arum adds.
