I being an American would love to rally behind someone born in my country. In fact I have supported many American athletes. Guys like Michael Jordan, Roy Jones Jr, Hank Aaron, Cal Ripken Jr, Joe Montana and I can go on. All of the athletes that I just mentioned were for the most part good people with high morals and standards. How many times has Michael Jordan called his father a “faggot” on national television, or ever for that matter? How many times have you heard anything about Hank Aaron being arrested for domestic issues or for anything for that matter? I mean can you picture Cal Ripken Jr the great baseball player waiving his money in the face of his fans and peers?
Make no mistake about it, Floyd Mayweather is an all time great fighter. He’s even done some good things with charities in Vegas that feed hungry people. This writer has pointed that out in previous articles in the past. The problem is, Floyd makes it difficult to rally behind because for every one good thing that he does he opens up his mouth and rains on the parade 12 times over. His behavior the other night on HBO 24/7 just made me shake my head in disgust.
