NEW YORK ? First, boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao gently sang Sometimes When We Touch as part of a duet with recording star Dan Hill. Then he mentioned the scintillating prospect of an eventual clash with Floyd Mayweather.
It was all part of Tuesday’s public news conference intended to promote his world welterweight championship contest against Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas (HBO pay-per-view).
Yet with any mention of Pacquiao, Mayweather’s name is sure to follow. And there is again reason to think the on-again, off-again dream bout could happen. Previous negotiations fell apart when Pacquiao balked at Mayweather’s insistence on blood testing for performance-enhancing drugs.
