Floyd Mayweather’s legal team has hit back against claims made by Manny Pacquiao’s lawyers with regards to their ongoing defamation suit, claiming that the Filipino is attempting to interrupt his training with his insistence that deposition hearings be made prior to Mayweather’s September ring return.
After Mayweather skipped one court ordered appearance and refused numerous other proposed dates on the grounds that he was in training for his upcoming WBO welterweight title bout against Victor Ortiz, Pacquiao’s legal team filed a motion for default and dismissal in early August.
In filing the motion for dismissal, Pacquiao’s team noted that while Maywether claimed to have been preparing for his upcoming bout, he was seen attending events in two Atlanta nightclubs, and in one instance burning a hundred dollar bill.
Mayweathe’s legal team however disputed the idea that he was partying, claiming that Pacquaio’s mention of the events in his motion was intended to damage Mayweather’s reputation by:
