“Sit down,” said Dave the Barber:” I’ve been reading a lot of stuff about Pretty Boy Floyd in the news lately. Which one of his fights is your favorite?”
“First of all he is not a Pretty Boy any more,” cut in Downtown Ronnie Brown:” He calls himself Money Mayweather now. And this one is even easier than the last one; it’s a beating of Chico Diego Corrales. I remember people coming up to me and talking about Diego is too powerful for Floyd and will knock him out. I would have bet a farm on Floyd that night, but I live downtown, so I settled for my last hundred bucks. Floyd beat that boy to the pulp. ?Diego was getting ready to go to jail for beating his wife and he was weight drained. He shouldn’t have even been in the ring that night,” said Al, the Barber:” I liked his second fight with Jose Luis Castillo. After nearly getting bye in the first one, Floyd showed his ring smarts. He figured out Castillo and completely dominated him in a rematch; it was a masterful boxing lesson.”
?Boxing lesson! It was boring,” cut in Bryan Speedy Gonzalez, an amateur boxer who trains at Burbank Boxing Club:” It’s a fight with Mosley all the way. Sugar hurt him good in the second and then… I remember brother Nazim saying that hurting Floyd would wake up the dragon inside of him. Well Sugar couldn’t put out that dragons? fire. Floyd stood in the center of the ring and beat Mosley to the punch. He beat the crap out of Shane. I don’t care how much shit Floyd talks; he backs it up. That was one master performance.”
?I liked what he did with Ricky Hatton,” said Dave the Barber:” undefeated, that English boy was riding a high horse; he stormed into the ring like a hungry bull boring into his prey, Mayweather time and again. But like a true surgeon, Floyd dissected Ricky with pot shots and a check hook that finished it was down right breathtaking. Ricky sure knows how to get knocked out. He perfected that for his fight with Manny Pacquiao. But what do you think?”
?It?s just like I said the last time,” I smiled:” My favorite Mayweather fight hasn’t happened yet. And the way he’s been acting lately??
?Forty one have tried, forty one have failed,? said Mayweather last time I heard him speak. ?So along with the rest of the world,? I continued:? I would like to see if Manny Pacquiao can succeed in kicking Floyd?s behind.?
