BOBBY Pacquiao, brotherr of Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao, will defend his World Boxing Council Continental Americas jr. lightweight title against veteran American Kevin Kelley on June 10 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
The Pacquiao-Kelley 12-round setto will serve as one of the undercards of Top Rank’s pay-per-view clash between Miguel Cotto and Paulie Malignaggi.
The 27-year-old Pacquiao holds the WBC Continental Americas title belt at 130 pounds, while Kelley is rated No. 6 by the WBBC.
This will be Kelley’s first bout at MSG since he took on Naseem Hamed on December 19, 1997.
Pacquiao won the title when he stopped Carlos Navarro in seven rounds last June 17. After that, Pacquiao carved out another victory, this time against Carlos Hernandez in a controversial fight.
Kelley carries a record of 58-6-2 with 39 KOs.
Manny Pacquiao himself is up for a big war on July 2 against former champion Oscar Larios in Manila.
Manny is coming off a huge win last January when he stopped future Hall of Famer Erik Morales of Mexico in Las Vegas, Nevada.
