Floyd Mayweather already weighing in at 149 pounds; Ortiz comes in at 157.4

Earlier today the WBC disclosed their figures for the 30-day mandatory safety weigh-in for the upcoming ?Star Power? pay-per-view split-site event. On September 17th Floyd Mayweather Jr. challenges Victor Ortiz for his WBC welterweight crown at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Mayweather-Ortiz undercard will feature such attractions as Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez defending his WBC junior middleweight belt against former challenger Alfonso Gomez and a surefire brawl between Tijuana?s Erik Morales and Argentina?s Lucas Matthysse for the vacant WBC junior welterweight crown. The Alvarez-Gomez bout takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Despite still having a month to make the 147-pound limit, Mayweather comfortably weighed in well below the 162-pound mandated 30-day limit at 149 pounds. Ortiz, who has filled out extremely well in his move to the welterweight division, came in at 157.4 pounds.

In other weights, Alvarez came in at 165.5 pounds while Gomez registered at 161. Morales came in at 153 pounds while Matthysse, who fought less than two months ago against Devon Alexander, appears to be in great shape at 147.5 pounds.
