Former bare knuckle and later MMA fighter Kimbo Slice aka Kevin Ferguson won his boxing debut over the weekend, besting opponent James Wade by knockout in the first round.
Slice needed just 17 seconds to put Wade to sleep, and from the offset his power was clearly too much for his now 0-2 opponent, who also struggled with his accuracy and hand speed.
Kimbo, sporting what appeared to be an injured knee, didn’t move as well as he has been known to, although in this case really didn’t need to. A good performance against the greenest of opponents from Slice, although leaving little inclination of just how far he might be able to go.
His promoters Gary and Jared Shaw insist that he intends to move up the rankings and take the time to learn his trade before eventually challenging for a title.
