According to TMZ.com Manny Pacquiao?s attorneys have filed a motion yesterday in a federal court requesting the judge to issue a default judgment in a defamation law suit against Floyd Mayweather due to Mr. Mayweather not showing up for deposition on numerous occasions. They are seeking closure to this case and unspecified monetary settlement.
And even though Bob Arum said the other day that there are no more issues preventing much anticipated Pacquaio Mayweather showdown in 2012, there is one story I feel, I should mention.
Few days prior, having my morning coffee at the same old Starbucks I ran into the most unlikely reader of my stories, Hungarian Gypsy fortune teller, Madam Sophia. ?You look familiar, son,? she said:? Oh, I know, I read your boxing stories in the Examiner.?
?You like boxing?? I asked, astonished.
?I like your stories,? she said:? But more than that, I like the aura of your tales.?
?You know, I am a third generation extra sense and I can tell the future,? said Madam Sophia making herself comfortable in a seat next to me with a hot cup of java:? What would you like to know, my son? This one is on the house.?
?You read my stories. You know what I want,? I replied with a smile:? The rest of the boxing world and I want to know when Floyd Mayweather is finally going to fight Manny Pacquiao??
?You don?t need a crystal ball for that one,? replied Madam Sophia with an eerie laugh:? Boxing Gods put kibosh on that fight; otherwise it would have already happened. I can tell every body in the world wants to see it, but it is unclear to me why they put a ban on it. May be they don?t want that cocky American boy from Las Vegas to profit until he gets right with himself. Or may be they don?t want to see that beautiful boy from Philippines, who is willing to feed the whole country to lose.? Advertisement
?What about all those steroids allegations that are being thrown around?? I asked while pinching myself and hoping this was not just a crazy dream.
?Oh, those are just smoke screens,? replied Madam Sophia:? Props, just like I use tarot cards or a crystal ball.?
? Now , if you want to know the real scoop and how gods plan to enforce the kibosh,? said Madam Sophia as her voice changed and her face turned into an image of an HBO unofficial judge, Harold Lederman:? Now that will cost you a hundred dollars.?
?You got a deal,? I said not being able to move in my seat.
It?s simple and it all has been pre-arranged,? said Madam Sophia: ?An American boy from Las Vegas, who is scheduled to fight in September; he will get knocked out, end of story.?
Undefeated American, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is scheduled to face a WBC welterweight champion, Victor Ortiz on September 17th in Las Vegas. The promotional tour for the intriguing showdown dubbed ?Star Power? has been off the charts. Las Vegas book makers have installed Floyd Mayweather as an eight to one favorite to win the fight, but Madam Sophia does not care about the odds; her visions come from a higher authority.
