FREDDIE ROACH still believes Amir Khan is trailing behind gym mate Manny Pacquiao ? but the legendary trainer reckons the boy from Bolton is quickly catching up.
Khan, 24, added the IBF crown to his WBA title with a win over Zab Judah last week under the guidance of Roach at his Wild Card gym in LA.
The Bolton man enjoys regular sparring wars with Pacquiao, the man regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter alongside Floyd Mayweather Jnr.
But Roach said: ?When they spar it?s always good but, while Amir is more than able to hold his own, as it progresses Manny takes control.
?Amir has developed so much since I started working with him. He?s a great kid who is always listening and always wanting to learn.
?Manny is a great fighter but Amir is certainly going in the right direction ? that?s a fact.?
