CEBU CITY ? From the airport to the media conference for foreign fighters seeing action in Saturday?s ?Pinoy Pride 7: Battle of Mactan:?, Tyson Cave repeatedly called out on Filipino world rated AJ Banal, whom the Canadian vowed he will knockout in front of a big partisan crowd at the Hoops Dome in Lapu Lapu City in Cebu.
?Where is AJ?? the native of Nova, Scotia, Canada asked local media when he met them for the first time, asking the whereabouts of the 22-year-old Banal, a young, revered ring figure in this boxing hotbed down south.
?I?m here and ready to fight?.I?m confident against anybody I fight. Tyson Cave is here!?
The bald-headed Canadian arrived with his team, composed of trainers Karim Colette, Kelvin Frazier, Michael Louis Philips and his father Robert Cave, early Monday morning, barely a week before he collides with Banal in a 12-round fight organized by the country?s premier boxing outfit ALA Promotions and network giant ABS-CBN.
Upon stepping down at the arrival area of the Mactan International Airport, Cave shouted at the top of his voice and vowed to stop Banal in their weekend bout where the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific bantamweight belt will be at stake.
?AJ better be ready for I will knock him out,? dared Cave (15-1, 5 KOS), who counts on the great Muhammad Ali and Prince Naseed Hamed among his boxing idols.
Banal however, remained unfazed by his loudmouth, preferring to remain silent as he goes into the final details of his fight plan for the match also supported by Plantation Bay Resort and Spa and the City Government of Lapu Lapu.
