MANILA, Philippines ? Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao vows victory in his third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. This time, he said, it will be a convincing one.
Pacquiao said in his Philboxing.com column, ?Kumbinasyon,? that he is already anxious to again face the Mexican champion.
?Excited na ako na lumaban at maghanda para sa ikatlong bakabakan namin ni Marquez at mapatunayan muli na ako ang nagwagi sa huling dalawang laban,? the fighting congressman from Sarangani province said.
(I?m excited to fight and prepare for my 3rd match against Marquez so I can prove that I won the first 2 fights).
He said he will make sure that there will be no more controversy after their November 12 welterweight title clash.
?Sa paghaharap na ito, nais kong maging malinaw at walang bahid ng pagdududa ang resulta ng laban (In this fight, I?d like the result to be clear of doubts),? said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao and Marquez’s first bout in 2004 saw the Filipino champion settling for a draw, despite knocking the Mexican down thrice in the first round.
Pacquiao won a 2008 rematch via a split decision.
Both fights ended in controversial fashion.
Boxing fans have been clearly anticipating the 3rd fight as fight tickets are almost sold out.
Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports’ boxing scribe, tweeted that after the first day of sales, there were only around 2,000 tickets left for the Pacquiao-Marquez fight.
This was confirmed by the management of the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where the bout will take place.
Pacquiao, however, has reportedly yet to sign the contract for the bout.
