First day sales for the November 12 fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez have nearly sold out. Yahoo! Sports boxing columnist Kevin Iole tweeted earlier that just a few seats remain at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas after the first day of sales:
Pacquiao and Marquez have a deep history, with controversial fights in 2004 and 2008, and obviously the feeling that in 2011 it’s a physical mismatch aren’t hurting the live gate. Pacquiao is of course an enormous star, and matching him once again with one of Mexico’s best was a guaranteed sale, even if a majority are skeptical of the fight being competitive.
