To fulfill his part of the equation, reigning universal featherweight king Manny Pacquiao will fly for the United States tomorrow to sign up for a scheduled May 22 dream showdown with reigning WBA/IBF featherweight king Juan Manuel Marquez.
Pacquiao, together with business manager Rod Nazario, will proceed to San Francisco before heading up for New York on February 21. The day after, Pacquiao and Nazario will then rendezvous with promoter Murad Muhammad where they are scheduled to meet with HBO’s Kerry Davis at the cable giant’s New York headquarters.
Foremost on the agenda will be the scheduled May 22 duel with Marquez, for which Pacquiao’s camp has indicated the Filipino hero should be getting no less than $1 million as purse money. HBO appears to be headed into giving Pacquiao his asking price.
