Klitschko/Haye
So it turns out that David Haye is more bark than bite. Well come on now, what did you expect. I mean really, truth is that many fight fans out there including myself wanted to see a new heavyweight champion crowned, especially one who has style, swag, and spit. In short, we were in need of an Apollo Creed type of heavyweight. Instead what we have now and will continue to have, are not one but two Ivan Drago?s. Now is that a bad thing? In my oppinion, No it isn?t, simply because I appreciate the fact that the Klitschko brothers have grown up and found a style that is very suitable for them.
All they do is win,win,win no matter what. Yet, the fight fans throw stones at them and call them boring. Even Floyd Mayweather fans are calling the Klitschko brothers snoozers, aint that something. Floyd himself has also found his name to be dragged in mud, they say it?s always going to be something with Floyd, well you know what? It?s the same exact thing with the Klitschko?s so it?s time that we should just call a spade a spade it is what it is. Thing is that when you are a heavyweight, the public demands to see brutal knockouts, the public is starving for hard core action. We are a in a era that is blood thirsty and worst of all, this era prefers the microwave over the oven. I got news for you all, next month when Vitali takes on Adamek, it?s going to be the same thing. Another Klitschko shall prevail and will be the one to get his hand raised as the victor. I will be cheering for Adamek all the way, but the spades are already showing face.
I will go even a little bit deeper than that. One will find better luck in defeating a Floyd Mayweather Jr., who happens to be undefeated than trying to find the luck and defeating a Klitschko today. Many right now reading this are shaking their heads saying to themselves how can this be so, the Klitschko?s have losses on their record and Floyd doesn?t. Well that was then and this is now, is how I respond to that. The Klitschko?s that lost back then were swinging giants that fought very wreckless. The Klischko?s of today are the closest thing to unbeatable. Every tiny step taken inside that ring by a Klitschko is well calculated, the never ending jab that they fire is used as not only a starter but also a finisher, everything that the Klitschko brothers do in there is by design.
In fact when Victor Ortiz takes on Floyd in September, Ortiz will find himself as a big underdog against all odds. But few will then become many, and many will then say that if an old Shane Mosley was able to find daylight for one scary round, then what will happen if a young lion like Ortiz catches lightning as well. They will say that Ortiz?s freshness will not allow him to tire out like Mosley did. So you see, there is a tiny chance of an upset occuring, a tiny chance but still a chance. Sometimes much luck is needed, and when facing a Klitschko, one must know that lady luck only comes to visit but she never comes to stay.
Judah/Khan
I had a conversation with Zab a few days ago, in that conversation I found Zab to be the most determined that I have ever known Zab to be. At one point, I compared his fight against Khan to the De La Hoya/Whitaker fight that went down back in the day. Ironicaly, a young Zab Judah walked Whitaker to the ring for that fight against De La Hoya. I compared the two fights because Khan like De La Hoya then is looked as being this rapid hard punching young fighter who happens to also have the looks of a model. So it?s very easy for the big wigs to root for that type of fighter, why? because when you combine all those atributes you will get a lot more money in your pocket. Whitaker at that time was known as the older fighter that had already paid his dues by fighting a lot of big names, Whitaker like Zab is today was still quick, slick, and could still fire a whip from the hip. But when I mentioned this to Zab, Zab said to me that Amir Khan is not on De La Hoya?s level, Oscar was a great fighter who had a great run. Khan is not that, not the next Golden Boy. Zab went on to mention to me that he is not over looking Khan at all but Zab let it be known to me that Khan is just an appetizer. I then asked Zab that if the plan goes as planned, and if after this fight the Mayweather/Ortiz winner and the Pacquiao/Marquez winner are on the table, who would Zab go after? Zab at this point reminded me that Khan is just an appetizer. As you can see, Zab is in no way shape or form overlooking Khan, Zab is foccused and determined and is taking this new voyage one step at a time.
On a side note- Zab and I even talked a little bit rap, being that the last time I saw him in Vegas we talked a little about the new lil Wayne song that was out at the time. I asked Zab to give me the top 5 best rappers dead or alive and his list to me was, Biggie, Jay-z, Nas, Pac, and Jadakiss. Zab then went on to add Fabulous and Lil Wayne to his list. My list by the way goes as follows, Biggie, Jay-z, Eminem, Big Pun, and Rakim. Oh and by the way, Zab also mentioned to me that Nonito Donaire has also been sowing up at Judah?s camp so there may be a Nonito Donaire sighting at the fight.
