LAS VEGAS, Nevada ? A Filipino-American boxing prodigy said he idolizes pound-for-pound king Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao despite training in the Mayweather Gym.
Demler ?DJJ? Zamora III, an 8-year-old Fil-Am boxing sensation, won his amateur debut last June 19. He is now preparing for another boxing tournament in July, which will be held in Las Vegas.
Despite being trained by Floyd Mayweather Jr.?s uncle, Roger Mayweather, DJJ said he idolizes Pacquiao.
DJJ even has a message for the Filipino fighting congressman.
?Keep fighting Manny, you?re doing good,? said DJJ.
Like Pacquiao, DJJ is also a southpaw and possesses blinding hand speed.
DJJ?s boxing talents has impressed Mayweather, who started training the boy when Zamora was only 7 years old.
?He did good the first time,? Mayweather said.
?Come back and see what he?s gonna do the next time. The more he fights, the better he is gonna become, the more he?s gonna get used to the audience.?
DJJ?s father is a Filipino, while his mother is an African-American.
