It?s all systems go for people?s world featherweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and business manager Rod Nazario who?re set to leave Feb. 20 to rendezvous with promoter Murad Muhammad in New York City.
Pacquiao and Nazario plan to spend a night in San Francisco before proceeding to New York on Feb. 21. The meeting with Muhammad and Home Box Office (HBO) vice president for sports Kerry Davis to discuss Pacquiao?s future will be held at the cable network?s Big Apple headquarters on Feb. 22. HBO has booked May 22 for Pacquiao?s next fight with no confirmed site.
After the HBO meeting, Nazario will fly to Orlando for a brief visit while Pacquiao will immediately return to Manila.
Nazario said Pacquiao?s opponent is still up in the air but mentioned International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight titlist Juan Manuel Marquez, people?s world superbantamweight ruler Paulie Ayala and World Boxing Council (WBC) superbantamweight champion Oscar Larios as options.
