Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. And Sebatian Zbik Fight for Their Zeroes

Casual Talk via HOLLYWOOD, California – Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (42-0-1) is all ready for his fight this Saturday, June 4, against Sebatian Zbik (30-0-0) for the World Boxing Council Middleweight Championship at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, which will be televised HBO Live Boxing After Dark.

“I am ready to fight the best out there and one of them is Sebatian Zbik,” says Chavez, Jr. “I am ready to be the champion this Saturday.”

Both Freddie Roach, his trainer, and Alex Ariza, his conditioning coach, believe Chavez, Jr. has what it takes to be a champion.

“The son of the legend (refering to Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.) is prepared. He has worked very hard to get ready,” said Roach.

“Look at him! He keeps moving and really working hard for this fight,” said Ariza who has been closely monitoring Chavez, Jr.’s outdoor workouts in Griffith Park. “At 25, he has a very bright future; it’s all up to him to become a champion.”

Meanwhile, Zbik, who flew in Los Angeles weeks earlier from Germany to prepare for his world title defense against Chavez, Jr, said: “I am here to defend my title. I know Chavez, Jr. is a strong fighter. But, I am the champion and stronger and I am quicker than him, too.”

The final press conference (for the credentialed only) will be held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in Los Angeles in the Golden State room at 12:00 noon, Pacific Time. The final weigh-in, which is open to public, will be held at the Star Plaza of Staples Center on June 3, this Friday, at 1:00 p.m., Pacific Time.

The first fight, this Saturday, will start at 4:05 p.m., Pacific Time, with the undercards. Official televised fights will start at 7:00 p.m., Pacific Time.
