If owning and operating the Wild Card Gym and training such boxing luminaries as Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan did not keep the world’s most recognizable trainer busy, Freddie Roach will be featured on a reality series hitting HBO in 2012.
Best known for developing Pacquiao into the world’s pound for pound best boxer, Roach’s life inside and outside of the ring will be chronicled.

“They will show my life at home, what happens in the gym before fights,” said Roach. “Having cameras around me did not bother me, but when I feel they exaggerate, I simply tell them to go home.”
The show started being filmed before the Pacquiao – Shane Mosley fight which took place earlier this month, and will also feature insight into Roach’s work with Khan, Julio Cesar Chavez Junior, and Pacquiao’s build-up to a November 12 rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez.. Advertisement
Roach assures that Julio Cesar Chavez Junior is ready
As Julio Cesar Chavez Junior wraps up preparations for a June 4 showdown with Sebastian Zbik at the Staples Center, Roach is sure that Chavez has received the best preparation of his career.
While Roach cannot be positive that Chavez is in the best physical shape of his career, he feels as if Chavez will be technically prepared to take away Zbik’s World Boxing Council middleweight championship.
