CABLE giant HBO has officially rescinded its million-dollar deal with Marco Antonio Barrera in favor of boosting the image of Filipino Manny Pacquiao in the pay-per-view market.
Kevin Flannery, HBO (Home Box Office) spokesman, indicated in an interview with the Mexican press that the decision to nullify Barrera’s deal, reportedly worth millions of dollars, came after the Mexican suffered a devastating 11th-round technical knockout at the hands of Pacquiao last November.
Flannery also added that HBO is now planning to invest millions on Pacquiao should the Filipino successfully wrest the World Boxing Association (WBA)/International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles from Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
